Coleslaw
anyone? This cabbage has obviously eaten it's spinach. I'm totally
fascinated by these
giant vegetables. And can you beet
this? Ahhhh...visions of next Spring. Giant bunnies nibbling
on giant carrots. The bigger the better. This is what I want
to see at the county fairs. The mega vegetable competition.
Oh Yea!

Why eat
healthy food when you can eat crap? One of my co-workers told
me about a kitty litter cake that she had seen once and lo and
behold...here
it is! (It needs sheets of newspaper under the tray with litter
dust sprinkled on it tho.)
With so
many gross things to eat, I'll need a whole nuther lifetime
just to fit them all in. How about some
mummy dogs?

Just hanging
around in the tree one fine afternoon when suddenly...out of
the shadows lunged Wild Thing. In an instance, I was swinging
out of control while locked in his deadly grip. Screaming only
intensified the maddness in which I was enveloped. Even the
tree
took sides! Doomed as I was, only one thing could fight off
this force of evil. "MOM"

Nothing
quite compares to having a baby bunny around the house. Check
out our new addition. On our way home this afternoon, we stopped
off at this great pumpkin patch. Sooooooo many colors,
shapes and varieties...not to mention one baby
bunny which was totally irresistible. Mind you, I've had
more than my quota of rabbits in the past. The thing
is, you ne-ver really have just one. They somehow appear
out of nowhere. This one's named Bungee.

Some of
my fondest memories involve tobacco. In 1979, my boyfriend and
I grew corn, soybeans, and tobacco on his fathers farm to bankroll
a move out West. We sterilized the soil. planted it, cut it,
staked it, hung it, and when it was dry, we tied the leaves
into "hands"
and sold them down the river in Ripley, Ohio. I'll never forget
the heat it generated
hanging in the barn. I loved everything about it and to
this day, their fragrant flowers
are still among my favorite.

Surf's up
and catching some BIG waves. I'm trying to do research
for this years Art Masterpiece program, but these BIG
waves keep slamming into me and now I'm so caught up in the
undertow that I have little choice but to just "go with
the flow" and enjoy the ride. Unfortunately,
this BIG
wave will only swell reliably in Explorer. Sorry Netscape
users.

Sometimes I just
need something that's real.
Not virtual, not that goes away when I pull the plug. Something
I can touch, drop, rip, throw at the wall, wear, eat, dust cobwebs
off of. Things I can hold, feed, pet, read, cover myself with,
run my hands through, hang out to dry, sing to, sing with, sing
about...something I know how to fix, like a flat tire, or a
meatloaf.

New
additions to our squash
collection.
It's so cool to walk
outside and see all these eclectic gourds and squash just lying
about. Life is good! The smell of woodstoves and decaying leaves
in the morning fog. Picking the last tomatoes. The added weight
of an extra
quilt at night. Dipping churros
in hot chocolate, drinking hot toddies, and knowing
that the ants are finally gone again until next summer rolls
around. Hallelujah!

I was cleaning out
some old desktop files earlier and came across this picture.
I have no idea where it came from or for that matter what they
are, but I find them intriguing. They look like barnyarn
chicks, or waterballoon sweaters, or slinkys on acid???
Also... I
love the graphics
on these pillows by Alexander Girard.

I like being able
to patronize a street booth and walk away with something more
exciting than a taco. We were knee deep and dollarless after
stopping at this
stand outside of Charleston. Definately more
legal bang for your buck. They must hire tatoo artists for
package designers... and with names like Loco Luke's and Arsonal
Art's, there's no question that what you buy, will shoot up
the sky. As always, Shogun
is a big hit.
